Virtual Reality (VR)

These virtual reality productions aim to transport the user into the historical setting in a way that ensures historical accuracy while also being suitable for educational use. Their main goal is to give visitors a hands-on experience: they can explore the digital world freely while following the guided narration. The productions run in real time and are not simple 360° video playback, so the user can freely observe the digital world through 360°, with six degrees of freedom (6DOF), by turning their head and gaze. The experience is guided and accompanied by narration.

360

Through the “360°” section, users can explore the historic sites and important landmarks of the Municipality of Megalopoli through interactive 360° panoramic images. The panoramic images offer better information and a better geographical understanding of the area. The 360° images capture historic sites, monuments and attractions of the area. The material is integrated into both the Web Portal and the Interactive Multimedia Application.
