Church of Saint John Tourkolekas
The present‑day stone chapel was built in 1998–1999 in memory of the New Martyr (Child Martyr) Ioannis Tourkolekas, the younger brother of the Greek Revolution fighter Nikitas Stamatelopoulos, known as “Nikitaras.” At the age of only eleven, Ioannis was tortured to death by the Ottomans in 1816 in Monemvasia, together with his father, Stamatelos Tourkolekas.
