English helmet with gilded bronze decorations and a horsehair crest. It dates from the period when Kolokotronis served in the British Army in the Ionian Islands (1810–1816), rising to the rank of major and gaining significant experience in regular military units. The large silver cross was added to the helmet at a later time. Theodoros Kolokotronis did not wear a helmet during the battles of the Greek Revolution but preferred a low fez.
